It was truly an analog dream come to life as BGLV teamed up with Audio-Technica and Brooks of Soul Sugar Joint to craft an immersive, interactive vinyl experience right here in NYC!

Together, BGLV and Soul Sugar Joint curated an eclectic selection from the in-house record library, showcasing rare gems from soul, blues, hip-hop, jazz, and even Japanese genres. With full access to Audio-Technica’s state-of-the-art equipment, attendees explored Hi-Fi turntables, audiophile headphones, amps, speakers, and more, creating the perfect environment for discovering music on vinyl.

Soul Sugar Joint opened the doors to her world, sharing her personal record collection with us. We delved into tracks that define the essence of Soul, Sugar, and the Joint. Those songs that truly “have you in a chokehold.”

The experience was topped off with a BGLV record swap, where attendees exchanged vinyl and went home with new records, complete with handwritten messages and a limited-edition vinyl insert, created in collaboration with Jakiyah Cabell’s "The Care Package" newsletters.

This heartfelt gathering united a vibrant community of Black women DJs, producers, artists, vinyl lovers, and music enthusiasts. Huge shoutout to Alexandria of BGLV for curating and producing the event alongside Brooks of Soul Sugar Joint, hosting and sharing records, and making this experience unforgettable.
